Blok 3 • Eric Giroudet De Boudemange
Using this technique i had to find the opposite colours of the original image. If you have an iphone you can set your screen in negative colours (by tapping the home button three times). So while i tried mixing the colours for the negative painting i could see trough my camera if it will match the colour in the original picture. The hard part was when i ran out of a color i mixed i had to try to find it all over again.
You also have to think the opposite, so if you want to highlight something you have to make it darker and if you want shade somewhere it's the other way around.
It was a fun technique to try, and i'm really happy with how it turned out!

I also tried to pixelate the image, for this one i had to find a compromise in how many pixels and how recognizable the image will be. It ended up being 30 x 30.
Just like the first painting i had a lot of colour mixing to do with this one. I had to mix the colour for every individual square. It took longer that expected but it had a therapeutic aspect to it.

For this assignment i made two pieces which both took a lot of time, so to experiment further i would try to make something that wouldn't take such a long time so i could also try more different things with the image and make more versions.
With this assignment i had a hard time trying not to follow the lines or style already in the picture. The one i like the most is the one above with the bird because i didn't start with a vision in mind and just made something.
With the political images i really tried to keep the message or power from the original image and story attached to it.
Normally i take images and make changes to them on my laptop but with this assignment we had to do it on paper which gave some new opportunities like playing with textures, which i really liked.
We had to combine our previous work. First we started online sketching and after that we had to paint it. You start with an image and eventually your painting might look totally different. i tried to combine the parts from the previous assignments that i liked the most
For the filter assignment we made some painting in class to make a mask from in Spark AR studio which was new for me. It was fun to see your own artwork on your face.
I saw there where more features possible in the sparks application which i'm curious to try out.

After class i tried it again, and i knew procreate has a feature for you to draw while it's showing on you face. so you can work in layers and adjust the drawing to your face. Which gives you the chance to make more detailed images.
and I made these koi fish:
